Chemo starts today

We had a good day yesterday. We celebrated father's day. In the evening, some of out best friends', John and Amanda Khoury stopped by. They are from Lebanon and they like hummus. It was mostly an uneventful day medically and uneventful medical days are good.

Today is a big day. Andrea will start round 3 of her chemotherapy. She had one small round called "COP", a very heavy round called "COPADM1", and now she will have another very heavy round of chemo called "COPADM2." After this round, we are hoping the cancer is in remission. COPADM2 will last for 5 days and I am hoping that we will be able to go home this coming Friday. After this round, we should have 2 weeks off from the hospital.

Hi Andrea!!

Kathleen sent me your blog & now I'm reading it at work when I should be working in my cubicle!! (hee hee!!) I'm so excited to read about your progress & know you will be better in no time!!

I wish I had pictures and "scrapping" materials so I could make you scrapbook pages like you made for me and Kate when we were in the hospital - but alas, I do not have the scrapping talent that you do!! :)

I'm praying for you every day & sending lots of love and good vibes all the way from Cleveland!!

Love,

Lauren Gibney

Hi Andrea,

First, I'd like to point out that Lauren just ended all of her sentences with not one, but two exclamation points.... cheery much? Just kidding!

I wish I could come up and visit you, but I am stuck in call center hell. Here's an image to make you laugh: picture me working all day in a tiny, dark cubicle with A HEADSET on!! I feel like I work in a drive-thru, but without the added benefit of free food. :(

Hope you're feeling better each day ~

Love, Kate xxxxx

Let's try this again. I have tried 3 times to send this. This computer stuff is confusing LOL. Glad to hear everything is going better. Cute hair cut and Anshul, what a great Kobe Bryant look alike. This is a long and tough fight but with the love you have for each other you will find the strength to fight this battle. EVERYONE is in your corner cheering for both of you and your families. Please remember you are loved very much and when you get home we will plan a trip up there for some cards and games.
Anshul, thanks for the daily updates. It really keeps us on top of her progress.

Good morning, Andrea! I'm so glad to have an avenue to be updated with your progress. We are all routing for you! I miss your beautiful smiling face at SCL. We all miss you.

I pray for you often, Andrea. Anytime your face comes to memory or your name enters my thoughts, I lift up a prayer for your healing, strength and encouragement throughout the ordeals of treatment. (You've even entered my dreams! And when you do, I see you as a strong, beautiful vibrant, and happy young woman. I'm taking that as a good sign of your healing.)

As a cancer survivor I am very much aware of the challenges that diagnosis and treatment brings, but also of the love that surrounded me during that time which was such a gift. I the love expressed by others contributed enabled me to endure treatment by bolstering up my spirit and perseverance to defeat the cancer by every avenue I could pursue. I believe that in combination with the treatments, love and positive energy healed me of 4th stage cancer. (11 years now and counting.) And, of course, I give all the thanks to God who is the source of all love.

You are so very much loved, Andrea. By all of us. By your family, friends and probably anyone who knows you as you are a gentle soul. It's definitely a time to soak in that love, Andrea, and to let it wash all over you. Soak in the positive energy and positive thought that is radiating to you from all those who are encircling around you and this cancer in order to defeat it and empower you.

Love you, Andrea! May the God of all Creation shine His face upon you this day. May you feel the warmth of His love. Brighter, more intense and more powerful than the rays of the sun. May the God of all Healing be gracious to you and heal you. And may He give you this day and every day throughout your treatments and healing process His Peace.
