Hi everyone,
I checked into the hospital yesterday for the first large chemotherapy treatments. I feel pretty good. Anshul, mom, and Anshul's parents have been keeping me company. I had a suprise visit from Becky, my babysitter when I was little yesterday. It was wonderful to see her.
I will be hopefully checking out at the end of this week. I will keep everyone posted on my recovery.
I love everyone.
Andrea

Andrea,
This is from your Aunt Deb. You are one brave, strong and beautiful young lady! You are bigger than this sickness! You KICK that sickness in the butt!!!! I'm counting on you!
Thank you so much Anshul for creating this blog. Maybe our heartfelt feelings of strength and love will come your way thru these postings and if they also give you a smile .... it's great!
Andrea and Anshul, hopefully Sharon is not 'sleeping'.... SNORING... close by! Geez, I never took her 'warning' of her snoring seriously until I spent some nights with her in Arkansas! I think I'll listen to her next time! Everytime Sharon snored, Denise and I giggled like 'schoolgirls'. I don't think we slept a wink!
Remind me, the next time your Mom and I get together .... bring earmuffs!
Hey, Baby Girl! Remember, kick ---!!!! YOU CAN do it!!!
Love,
Aunt Deb

Hi Andrea,
I hope you're feeling better! I had to work late today. I'm going to try and write you every day as I think of you everyday! It may seem 'humdrum' ..... remember, I'm 'old' and so things may seem humdrum that I write, but I'm still thinking of you.
I understand, Honey, that you get sick from chemotherapy and that it's intense. HANG IN THERE! You CAN do it!
Tomorrow I'm off work so going to work in the yard a bit. I have to trim some hedges, cut back the parsley in the garden that is now looking like a weed. I need to clean out the flower beds but have to be careful as I found American praying mantis' and understand they are rare, about 2 years ago and don't want to hurt them. What a funny story of how I tried to 'save' a couple of them. I'll tell you sometime.
Well, I best get to bed. Sleep tight. I'll write more tomorrow.
Love,
Aunt Deb

Andrea,
I'm on-call at the hospital so can't do much except wait for the phone to ring and have to go in until 11:00pm tonight ... hey are my contacts in? Today was a busy day in surgery. I really love my job and so sad to hear of your infection post-surgery. I got home and one of my chihuahuas (I have two ... got the second one after Carrie went off to school ... to keep the first one company on my long work days) has an eye infection. Everytime I come close to her with a warm cloth to wipe her eyes, she runs. Also, I try to sneak some antibiotic ointment over her eyes ... no matter how much I try to hide it, she seems to sense it ... and runs. I'm tired from just chasing her around!
Can you just imagine me running around the house, warm cloth hidden behind my back, chasing my chihuahua, trying to catch her, tryig to 'convince' her I don't have a warm cloth to wipe her eye with antibiotic ointment in the other hand, around the house? What is to be said that I can't 'outsmart' a chihuahua?
I'll 'win', I'm determined! Just like I KNOW you are to beat this terrible illness. If you need a laugh, think of your 'old' (hey, cut that out!) Aunt Deb, running around the house, chasing a little dog, trying to help her, your Aunt Deb tripping and falling over things, trying to hide a warm cloth, antibiotic ointment in another hand.
Hey, little Lady, hang in there! I think of you so much! I'm sorry the robe didn't fit but we'll make it better. Goodnight! Love, Aunt Deb XOXOX
My beautiful sweet Andrea...I just recently heard about your illness, and then it took me a week and various instructions from my girls to figure out how to use a "blog". I don't know how old your Aunt Deb is, but I'm probably lots older than she is ;+) I've known you and Kathleen since you were little girls, and have watched you grow into beautiful STRONG women. You have so many people praying for you, Sharon, Joe, Kathleen and Anshul and his family. What affects one, affects everyone who loves you, and that is too many to count!!! I don't know your religious preference, but St. Peregrine is a saint associated with cancers, and I've been sending alot of prayers out for you. I left Sharon a vm msg advising I'm sending in the "heavy artillery". Rest in the knowledge that you are loved, and we'll all fight this together. Love from Lisa, Sven, Lauren and Britta
Andrea,
What a busy day at work, but a good day. I think of you so much! Such a beautiful young lady ... strong. You WILL fight this! You are going to be just fine! Keep your spirit!
I came home today, not much going on ... not too hungry for dinner ... just watching the news and taking care of one of my chihuahuas, still chasing her around to put some antibiotic ointment around her eye, although it looks better. How she 'knows' I have some ointment on my finger, I have NO clue. I keep trying to tell her 'Grammy is too old to run around the house chasing you ... ' but she just doesn't seem to want to listen.
By the time I catch her the ointment has melted off my finger and when I try to add some more, she 'senses' it and off she runs! If someone where here to videotape it, we'd probably win American's Funniest Videos!
Hey you, you STAY STRONG! So many love you and are praying for you and thinking of you! Please! Invite me to your 'Hey, you guys! I beat this thing' party. I can't wait to come and enjoy! Please, just don't make me sleep near your Mom and her snoring or at least can you warn me so I can bring some ear plugs ... or at least your Aunt Denise and I can stay together so we can giggle like schoolgirls again and drown out your Mom's snoring!
Love,
Aunt Deb
