Andrea is feeling a little better today. Her white blood count is coming up slowly. The doctors have explained to us that the reason it is now taking longer and longer for her counts to rise is the cumulative effect of her treatment. Hopefully soon they will jump to more normal levels.
Also, some of her symptoms from her infection are resolving. The pimples/breakout all over her skin is getter better. Her eyes are less swollen. She still has a great deal of pain in her eyes, but it is slightly better. Her eyes were really sensitive to the light last few days, but today they are better. So, these things are better, but there is something going on with her lung/ribcage. She is complaining of pain in under her ribcage near her right lung. They did a xray last night and we are awaiting the results. They are also going to do a ultrasound. Also, now they have increased her neupogen injections to get her white counts up and, thus, she is having more muscle/bone pain from those.
Overall, though, she is a little better. My brother actually got her a new mattress pad which made her incredibly more comfortable last night. So, even though her sleep is always interrupted by doctors/nurses, she slept more comfortably. She was really thankful. I am looking forward to her getting even better and having some more of these symptoms resolved.
A little better again today

It's always a relief to know when Andrea feels better. I really hope she recovers soon.
Love,

First of all, my heart goes out to all the family by Andrea's side. Kathleen, Joe, Sharon, Anshul and all the family members so deeply caring for her, you guys are such a part of her healing, I hope you are all aware of the benefit you are providing by just being there and letting her see the love and caring. Andrea is without a doubt one of the toughest young ladies I have ever known and I am so looking forward to her returning to home and enjoying her family even more.
Kathleen - The power of a sibling is unrelenting, you and she have a very special relationship that no one else can understand.
Joe / Sharon - Anyone with children is in awe of your love and stamina. Parents have a God given love that goes beyond belief. You are both an incredible example. There is nothing like a Mom to be there make things as good as possible and nothing like a Daddy to hold and comfort a daughter.
Anshul - Andrea and you have a special bond that is hard for others to understand if they have not shared in such a relationship. Please keep posting, it is so important to all those who's constant thoughts are with Andrea.
I've rambled enough but I thought it important to remind you of the power of family.
Andrea - I see a spot on survivor for you, once this is whipped.
