Counts on the way up

Andrea woke up today and felt like herself for the first time in a few days. She had little pain and felt much better. She even took a walk this morning which she has done since last Sunday. I think her medications working for a few days and more white blood cells have really helped her. She still has a little bit of nausea and is tired, but hopefully the nausea will subside soon. Also, she has not eaten or drank anything in 6 days. Today maybe we will try and get her to eat.

She actually started feeling good late last night. She was on a great deal of pain medication which really sedated her. So, we asked the doctors to give her less pain medication. That made her less sedated and she started to feel like herself. I knew she started to feel better and feel like herself when last night she accused me of flirting with the nurse. This is what happened.

ACT 1: ANSHUL AND THE NURSE

Nurse walks in.

Nurse: "Hi Anshul"
Anshul: "Hellooooooooo Nurse"
Nurse: "Those pain meds make Andrea really sedated, huh?"
Anshul: "Nurse, you can sedate me anytime."

CLOSE OF ACT 1

I don't see how I did anything wrong. Andrea is obviously hallucinating and must have more tests done. I was just agreeing with the nurse that being sedated is not that great.

All joking aside, today is a good day and Andrea is seeming to turn the corner.

I agree with Andrea. You were definitely trying to get a rise out of her. I'm glad she's feeling well enough to put you in your place. Keep improving and keep Anshul in line.

Hi sorry I haven't posted in a while. I wanted to let you know that we have been praying around mom's bed and you are always in our prayers. We have all told her it is ok for her to go to heaven now. If there is anyone we know that is ready, it is her. We just are selfish and wish we could spend more time with mom...ole grand ma...granny...g-ma. We feel all your spirits here with us. I am SO glad that Andrea is improving. I hope the cow that mom bought brought a smile to everyone's face up there. Sharon forgot to mention a very special person in her last post...SHARON! Anshul, we have all been thinking about the last time we were all together for Andrea's birthday party..what a wonderful memory..for us and mom. Sharon, I am so sorry to hear about your mom. I hope she is feeling better. Mr. and Mrs. Mangal were here to see mom today. We thanked them for everything they have done for our family. All I know is that we have a great family and extended family. Andrew Burt has called the last two days to ask about everyone and to tell everyone that they are thinking about us and praying for us all. Most of Mom's Legion Of Mary friends have been coming and ALL tell us what we already know. Mom is a Very special person and has touched many many life's. Andrea I see a lot of her in you. The easy smile and good nature and easy laugh. I wish I was more like you two. My sister in law, Linda Gnat-Mullin, sent me an email today saying we were all in her thoughts. I am rambling. I love you all and think of you constantly. John

Hi Andrea, did you get G-ma's gift to you yet? I wish you could have heard us giggling about it last Saturday. Grandma said our rosary for your health and relief of pain on Saturday too.
She had a good time in Lake Michigan on Sunday and the sudent nurse found some left-over sand between her toes yesterday! Love you SO MUCH. Mary Helen

Hi Andrea, I wish I could be up there to help in any way. Every day on my way home from school I stop at this peaceful little spot on the canal and say a prayer for you, Uncle Joe, Aunt Sharon and Kathleen. I'm glad that you have had such love and such positive people surrounding you. It's so nice to know that things are looking up. We miss you and love you lots!
