Low white blood count

Andrea's white blood count is essentially zero and she is feeling the low count. She is very tired, has more pain, and a little more nausea. She is still fighting and hanging in there. So far no sign of a fever which is great. Fevers are what tell us that she has an infection and to go to the hospital. I think if she can make it past this weekend, then maybe she will be able to stay home for good until her next round of chemo.

This weekend, however, will most likely be the most dangerous time for her. I think some extra good thoughts and prayers from everyone are much needed.

Good morning (actually afternoon)...I slept in til 11am...try to catch up on weekends when possible. It sure feels like fall here in the windy country. The beautiful red leaves of my burning bushes blew off these past few days. Andrea, on your next trip to Indy, you'd be very welcome to stop by our country home and likewise give tips on beautifying our yard (like Ann, I wonder if there is something about nurses that lack horticultural skills-except Lisa T. probably has them). Speaking of Indy, have you and Anshul given any thought to moving back home? It makes perfect sense...your family is here, as is your zany country friend who loves animals and can't wait to meet Penny! Anshul, I can't thank you enough for continuing to keep us updated. Also, I didn't realize you'd returned to work. I think it's good for you to be able to return to as normal a routine as possible, and then to be home for your heroic and lovely wife in the evening.

Well, my Britta is hosting a Halloween party at the library today. She's put alot of thought and preparation into this for the teens and we're very proud of her. I'm dressing up as a tired, worn-looking nurse case mgr....oh wait, that's who I REALLY am!!! ??? (it doesn't take much to amuse me :=)

Until next time, my love to you Andrea and Anshul, and my dear wonderful Sharon, her wonderful husband Joe, and one of the best sisters in the whole wide world, Kathleen.... Lisa

I recommend that you stay home today. It's very scary out there. I went to Marsh and was followed down the aisle by a pint-size Darth Vader who was breathing heavy and brandishing a sword. I barely made it out in time.
I'm home now trying to get my lesson plans done for next week. Unfortunately, I've stopped to do about ten other things first. I must still be in shock from my encounter with the dark lord.
I hope you're having a calm and restful day.
Love,
Aunt Karen

We're keeping you in our thoughts constantly! Sorry to hear about the low count but I'm glad you may be able to stay home for a while. We missed you guys at Halloween last night. Julie and I were Beetlejuice and lydia, but most people just thought we were the Joker and a Witch. It was great getting to talk with uncle Joe for a while and hearing about how everything has been. Hopefully we'll be up there again soon.

Love always,
Ross and Julie
