Dear family and friends,
today Andrea feels a little better but still tired and a little nauseated but much better than yesterdays late afternoon and evening. She started vomiting and having headaches and since she has had constant intestinal issues since last Sunday and we were worried that she was just getting weaker and weaker. But her blood count has stayed stable since her recent blood and platelet transfusions which is good and her platelets are very low but we are still hopefull when her body starts making white cells everything will get better. Dr. Kent stopped by today and said he thought she had a significant infection and the antibiotics are the right ones for this infection so he told her that he thought that the lab test was saying 0 but that he thought they were still there were still white cells fighting the infection. So hopefully tomorrow all the counts will be on the way up and Andrea will start gaining more. Kathleen gave Platelets today and she said everyone was commenting on how great they were and actually they got two units from her because she had such an large active group they actually said she was a "Platelet godness" which Kathleen was pretty pleased with :-) She came back looking a little puny so Andrea tucked her in bed with a little juice and plenty of some of the little comments we give to her. It was a really nice moment. So at the end of the day our andrea is tired but drinking tea and having a better day. She has enjoyed the memories of the birthday party and the pictures of that day. It was really been a bright spot for her and all the cards and bog notes have also been so wonderful they all brighten up the long hard days for Andrea. Thank you all so much for all the ways you all love and support her during this difficult time. It really helps her and us.
Also another note Andrea has needed alot of blood and platelets so the blood bank has given us infor for any one else that could donate for Andrea they call it a directed donor collection and maybe it could be done even in Indy and sent here but they were unsure. However if anyone wants to donate you are welcome to stay with us.

Hi Sharon-- Thanks for the update. We loved the picture of Andrea being the nurse to Kathleeny. Mary H and I took a walk this AM and read the blog together. We will check on donating platelets. Andrea called me yesterday and I was SOOOO happy to hear her voice. Kathleen went shopping for me and Andrea liked and wore what she bought! I was so happy!! Like I told Andrea, she will beat this!!!
Andrea, you hang in there!!!! I didn't do much today, paid my neighbor to mow and trim my yard. I worked in the house and trying to keep my one doggie who had surgergy quiet.

Hi everyone!!! I'm off today and no call, yeah!!! Guess what exciting thing I'm going to do .... scrub my kitchen floor and do some laundry (the blankets I've been sleeping on the floor) to hang outside.
I'm still sleeping on the floor with my doggies because I don't want one of my little doggies who broke her leg jumping up or down off the bed or couch. Another couple of weeks and then I'll feel comfortable that her leg is healed.
Andrea, you look like a great 'doctor' to Kathleen! I bet she feels all better! You take care of yourself, keep the 'spirit' that you have!!!
